Macadamia Nut Oil for Face

Macadamia nut oil for face

Macadamia nut oil for face treatment? Why, not? If you are using skin care products and are not too happy about the results you are getting, you may want to consider first the use of natural plant-based oil for your skin care needs. Macadamia oil is derived from the luscious macadamia nuts by a process known as cold pressing. With this technique, no significant amount of heat is applied to macadamia nuts to get its oil, just the natural way to get the oil out and since no heat is used, it helps in preserving all the nutritive value of the macadamia nuts.

Macadamia oil has gained popularity in the health and wellness industry because it has been found out to have high concentrations of the essential fatty acid, palmitoleic acid. The chemical profile of this essential fatty acid has a very close semblance to that of human sebum. When it comes to animal-based oils, this is the perfect alternative.  I will even say that macadamia oil is the oil of choice that can actually take the place of shark liver oil or even Mink oil.  If you have a mature skin, know that your skin is lacking so much on this important essential fatty acid. And if you want to renew your skin, you should start looking for ways to have a topical application of palmitoleic acid which, fortunately, is found in high concentrations in macadamia oil.

When it comes to the production of menopausal, anti-aging or skin care treatment products intended for mature skin, macadamia oil is actually considered as the perfect carrier oil where it brings along its moisturizing and restructuring properties for the skin.  It is also highly stable, hence, when used as the oil-base for skin and even hair care treatment products there is no need to add in more antioxidants to it because, the fact is, macadamia oil in itself has more than enough already. This also explains the reason why it is the oil of choice when it comes to improving the antioxidant profile of other volatile and fragile oils. Increasing their antioxidant properties will help keep them from becoming rancid brought about by oxidation.

So why is macadamia oil is a good moisturizer for mature skin?

  • Virtually, it has a much longer shelf life, 2 years, and won’t go rancid even then.
  • Highly antioxidative, which means it fights off the free radicals in our body systems. Free radicals cause degenerative damage to the cellular level.
  • Helpful in promoting the restructuring process of mature skin
  • It takes skin moisturizing to the next level
  • Excellent alternative to fish and animal oils
  • Rich source of palmitoleic acid, as well as linoleic and linolenic acids.

When you combine 84% of avocado oil or apricot kernel oil to 10% of macadamia oil, you can actually come up with an excellent oil blend that is perfect to use for renewing and moisturizing mature or dry skin. Add in 4.5% borage oil and 1% argan oil and you will have an oil blend that has a floral aroma with that calming effect on your mind and body. Actually, we all need this at the end of a very hectic, busy day.

As opposed to the use of over-the-counter skin care products, which are more often than not costly and can actually induce blemishes on skin tone,  natural-based oil blends are gaining more popularity these days, thanks to the wellness industry,  because they are high impacting in terms of moisturizing and renewing  tired, dry, flaky, and dull looking skin. Macadamia nut oil for face may not be able to restore mature skin back to that once satin-looking complexion again but then again dramatic improvements can be seen and felt and will be very evident with everyday use.

I highly suggest that you consider first making your own oil blend for your own skin care needs, and take advantage of macadamia nut oil for face as the carrier/base oil. This will help you see the difference that it can make and will eventually make you decide to add it to your arsenal of trusted personal skin care treatment items.
